You have probably heard that our Gingerbread Man ran away from our classroom! We searched everywhere but we could not find him!
Then Mrs Greenslade spotted him on the CCTV! Can you spot him?

We decided to make some wanted posters so that the rest of the school could look for him as well!

Luckily, they did the trick and Mrs Lavictoire brought him back to us on Wednesday!

Spring has definitely sprung in Ash 2! We have spent the week thinking about how moving from winter to spring affects the world around us and the changes we have noticed. All the children had spotted lots of daffodils growing around school, so we decided to do some observational painting. Our previous learning about colour mixing was put to good use as we mixed just the right shades of yellow and green.

Aren't they wonderful? We love how they are all so different!

This week we have been learning how to play some our board games independently, without an adult. To continue developing our collaboration and empathy skills, we have concentrated on making sure that we are following the rules and that everyone has a turn.
We have also been very busy using sentences to record what we have learnt about spring.

This week, our maths lessons have been helping us to recognise numbers speedily and count accurately. We realised that we must be careful not to count the objects too quickly. We have been practising touching each object as we say the number.

As we continue to notice how spring affects the world around us, we have been learning about life cycles and, as a class, we decided to focus on hens. We learnt that hens need to incubate the eggs for up to 20 days before they can hatch! We recorded our new learning in information booklets - I wonder which other facts your children can share with you…
