September - Ash 2
W/C 7th September 2026
Welcome back to the new school year!
The children in Ash 2 have made a wonderful start to the year and have enjoyed getting to know each other and making new friends.

We are incredibly lucky to have had some renovations over the summer holidays, most notably our toilets and outside area. We have had lots of fun exploring the new space and the new resources that are now in situ.

We have spent a lot of time creating our new garden area. We planted mint, parsley and a curry plant in our herb garden as well as cabbages, spring onions and kohl rabbis in our vegetable planter. In the pots, we planted Hebes, Dianthus and Cyclamens to give some splashes of colour. In the coming weeks we will plant up our bulbs ready for spring.

What a busy first week!
We have been very busy this week, helping to make our classroom feel like a home.
First, we added our birthdays to the birthday wall, so that we know when we will be celebrating our special day with each other.
Then we created a display of our self portraits. We'll draw ourselves again in July, and see how much we've changed!
We spent the rest of the week making little versions of ourselves; our Ash 2 Mini Mes! The children carefully selected the resources they needed, making thoughtful decisions about features such as hair colour and clothing to represent themselves. They demonstrated their developing fine motor skills as they cut pieces of wool and used glue and sticky tape to join different materials together.
