September - Carle

Welcome back to the new school year! This week in Carle we have been looking at a book called 'Dragon Post'. We have been reading the book together and describing the dragon.
We have been settling well into our new classroom and exploring our different resources including our sensory trays and outside area.
We are all getting into a good school day routine and enjoying learning lots of new things.
Our sensory trays have been a fun way to focus on our fine motor skills, using the paintbrush to copy patterns in the glitter and the tweezers to make a rainbow of pom-poms.
We have been counting in tens and units this week using a range of different resources, from counters to numicon and dominoes.
This week we started a new book called Cave Baby!
We are really enjoying this book and have enjoyed using the tuff trays that have been filled with cave themed resources.
We had Forest school this week where we collected leaves and twigs, we are going to use these to make some artwork for our display.
We have been focussing on tens and ones this week in maths and have had lots of different activities set up in the math tuff tray.
