September - Duffy
W/C 7th September 2026
Welcome back to the new school year!
Our class looks wonderful as it has been completely refurbished over the holidays. We started the week with a whole day of art. We are learning about George Seurat. He lived in Paris nearly 150 years ago and invented a paining style of pointillism.

We had to concentrate really hard drawing tiny dots to create shade.

We have also started learning all about Stone Age people. To understand how long ago things happened we used a toilet roll to make a timeline. Every sheet was a century (100years).

W/C 21st September
What a busy couple of weeks we have had. Children are now back into the routine of school and our class has been praised for the calm quiet way they come into the room and start their TT rockstars work in the morning.
In English we have been studying the Book The First Drawing all about a Stone Age boy. We are working towards writing out own version. It links beautifully with our Wider Curriculum work on People in Early Britain.
In maths we are working on understanding place value.
We have been visualising numbers to 1,000 with place value resources and placing them on a number line.
