Welcome to Year 2!

Welcome to Year 2! We are very excited to begin another wonderful year of learning, growth and discovery. Our class teacher is Miss Dicken, supported by our fantastic teaching assistant, Mrs Fellows. We use a relational approach throughout the school, building positive relationships that help every child feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

Our class author is Jha. Her work encourages children to explore different perspectives and alternative viewpoints through reading. We look forward to using these ideas to inspire our own creative thinking and storytelling.

In Year 2, children build on the strong foundations established in Year 1 while developing greater independence and confidence in their learning. A continued focus on key foundation skills across all subjects will help ensure that every child is well prepared to become a successful and resilient learner, ready for the transition into Key Stage 2.

Mrs Lowe will teach the class on Thursday afternoons, and PE will take place on Monday afternoons. We look forward to working together with our children and families to make this a happy, successful and rewarding year.
