Welcome to our Year 1 class!

Our classroom is a happy, nurturing and playful environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning. As the children move into Year 1, they begin following a more traditional timetable, which can be a big change from their Reception experience. We recognise that this transition takes time, and we support every child at their own pace as they develop independence and adapt to new routines.

Learning in our classroom is hands-on, engaging and purposeful. We believe children learn best when they are actively involved, so we provide plenty of practical activities that allow all learners to demonstrate their understanding in ways that suit them. Sensory breaks are thoughtfully woven into our day to help children regulate, refocus and achieve their very best.

We celebrate effort, resilience and kindness, creating a classroom where every child feels valued, supported and ready to take on new challenges. We are looking forward to an exciting year of discovery, creativity and learning together
