Learning to Love; Loving to Learn - Life in all its Fullness

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had a fantastic week in school, filled with exciting activities and plenty of proud moments.

Our Year 5/6 pupils have had a wonderful time on their residential at St Georges House, enjoying new experiences, developing independence, and making memories that will last a lifetime. I believe they are now fully trained in dishwashing and sandwich making!

Meanwhile, the children who remained in school have also had a brilliant week. They’ve enjoyed spending time with their peers and taking part in a more informal, fun, and creative curriculum. There have been lots of giggles echoing down the corridor!

This morning, our Year 3/4 girls took part in a football event at Tarka Tennis, where they were involved in a variety of football-related challenges. They represented the school beautifully, demonstrating teamwork, determination, and great sportsmanship.

We are incredibly proud of all the children attending events in our wider community this week; they have been excellent ambassadors for our school.

Looking ahead, we are excited for our belated World Book Day celebration next Thursday. Have you got your PJs or cosy clothes ready? Don’t forget to bring in a book for our Book Swap event. This a wonderful opportunity to share stories and discover new favourites.

Wishing everyone a restful weekend (I think there may be some very sleepy Year 5/6 children!

Warm regards,
The School Team

Collective Worship this week...

We have explored Hope through the Bible story of Jesus and the children: Mark 10:13–16 ICB - Jesus Accepts Children - Some people - Bible Gateway.

Jesus didn’t treat children as less important than adults. Instead, he celebrated their worth, their curiosity, and their openness. This teaches us that:

  • Children deserve attention and respect.
  • Children should be listened to and included.
  • Children matter to God just as much as adults.

Just as Jesus welcomed all children, SDG 4 reminds us to make sure all children get the chance to go to school, be supported, and reach their full potential.

STARS THIS WEEK

Here are the children who have been shining by showing our church value of HOPE this week ...

Hope

But those who hope in

the Lord will renew their

strength

Ash 2: SHIFA

Shifa is the recipient of our star this week! She has set very high expectations for her own letter formation and has been practising her 'lead ins' at every opportunity. Well done, Shifa!

Rayner: EMMANUEL

Emmanuel is our star of the week as he is displaying hope in his attitude to learning. Emmanuel is taking great care over his independent learning and working carefully to ensure it is completed to a high standard. .

Percival: BENTLEY

Bentley is our star of the week, due to his hopeful attitudes he displays during all learning tasks. Bentley always shows a positive attitude and lightens up our room with his smile!

Duffy: KASHVI

Kashvi is our star of hope this week. She has high expectations of her self and is full of positive thoughts and hope that she will achieve her goals. Keep it up Kashvi you really are a star of hope.

Farook: SERENA & AKSHAT

Serena has been working so hard this week on her handwriting, ensuring it is big enough for my little, old eyes to see. She has not given up hope, checking back and making little adjustments where necessary. I can't wait to see what wonderful ideas and stories you are going to share and your handwriting goes from strength to strength.

Akshat is another star that we have this week for HOPE. He has been contributing positively to class discussions and has enjoyed celebrating parts of the curriculum that he is passionate about, such as his incredible skills at Art, with his peers. Thank you for spreading HOPE.

Evans: NATANIA
This week, our star goes to Natania! Natania has been in our small 'residential' group this week and she has been truly wonderful. She adapts so well to different groups of people, different routines and different adults and I truly commend her for this! She shows great maturity and brings a lovely energy to any room.

Shakespeare: ELLEN

This week, our star goes to Ellen! Ellen has been at school in our small 'residential' group this week and she has been fantastic. She brings such an upbeat and fun energy and everyone loves being around her. She really is a strong role model, and if she can't do something, she will work on it until she can! What amazing determination.

Prefects: NATHAN

This week our star is going to Nathan who is always respectful and dedicated to his learning.
