Learning to Love; Loving to Learn - Life in all its Fullness

Respect

Dear Parents and Carers,

We’ve had a wonderful week at school, full of achievements, celebrations and moments that have made us feel incredibly proud of our community.

Children with Cancer UK - HDR UK

A huge congratulations to Mr Day, who has just completed his tenth London Marathon — what an outstanding achievement! This is a fantastic example of determination and resilience, and we are so proud to have such an inspiring role model in our school. A big thank you as well to Mr Day for organising our Mini‑Marathon, which raised a brilliant £351 for his chosen charity, Children with Cancer UK. Thank you to everyone who took part and supported this event - your generosity and enthusiasm are much appreciated.

We would also like to say a very big well done to our Year 2 children who attended the Tennis Festival at the Tarka Leisure Centre earlier this week. They represented our school beautifully and received lovely comments about how smart, polite and well‑behaved they were throughout the day. You really did shine our light and made us extremely proud.

In Forest School, children have been busy planting sunflower seeds, and an exciting competition is now underway to see whose sunflower will grow the tallest. We can’t wait to see how they grow over the coming weeks - watch this space!

As we head into the weekend, we hope you all enjoy a restful and happy Bank Holiday. A friendly reminder that school is closed on Bank Holiday Monday, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful weekend with your families! 🌻

Warm regards,
The School Team

Collective Worship this week...

This week’s collective worship focused on the importance of education and the impact that his can have on our lives.

In the Bible, Jesus says, “Let the little children come to me” (Mark 10:14), reminding us that children are precious and valued. Every child deserves love, inclusion and the chance to grow and flourish.

At our school, our vision “Loving to Learn” reflects this belief. When children enjoy learning, they build confidence, curiosity and resilience. A love of learning helps them live life to the full and use their gifts to make a positive difference in the world.

Family Reflection

  • What helps my child learn well?
  • Why is it important that every child has the chance to learn?
  • What is something you learned this week that helped you grow?

STARS THIS WEEK

Here are the children who have been shining by showing our church value of ASPIRATION this week ...

Aspiration

In everything he did, he had great

success because the Lord

was with him

Ash 2: MAISIE

No matter what we are doing, Maisie never fails to try her very best. She puts an incredible amount of effort into all of her learning and always tries to make it even better than it was before. Thank you, Maisie . Your aspiration is a great example of our school values in action.

Rayner: RIHAN

Rihan has really been pushing himself in his writing lessons to produce the best writing that he can. He truly deserves this weeks star for aspiration.

Percival: BENNET and TILLY

Bennet has given 100% to all of his learning this week and has shown an incredibly aspirational attitude in and out of the classroom. Keep it up Bennet!

Tilly is also our star of the week for her aspirational attitude to tennis on our school trip to Tarka Tennis this week. Keep it up Bennet and Tilly!

Duffy: JACOB, STANLEY and BENJAMIN

Jacob, Stanley and Benjamin have earned a start for aspiration this week due to their focus and commitment to getting their published writing the best it can be. Other members have staff have given positive feedback about the boys attitude to learning. Well done boys, keep it up.

Farook: ABI, FERN and JOSH

CCE3F411

Evans: OLIVIA and CHLOE

This week the stars in Evans have to go to Chloe and Olivia. They are both working so incredibly hard in maths, not just on the mathematics but also on their self-belief and knowledge that they can do things that are difficult. Every day I see these two give 100% and these stars are very much deserved.

Shakespeare: LEONORA

This week my star is for Leonora. I have been teaching just year 6 now for the past two weeks and she has stood out with her attitude towards revision. She hasn't complained or moaned about any of the learning she has had to do and I'm so impressed! Really enjoy teaching Leonora and will miss her next year.

Prefects: LINCOLN

This week Lincoln has been working really hard and try to get aspired by something.

If you have something that you would like to celebrate where your child has been "Living Life in all its Fullness" and would like to share it with our school community, please send it to the school office along with a brief explanation. We will be delighted to include it in our school newsletter.
