Learning to Love; Loving to Learn - Life in all its Fullness

Respect

Forgiveness

What an incredible week it has been across our school community!

We would like to begin by sharing how immensely proud we are of our children in Year 1 and Year 4. Our Year 1 pupils approached their Phonics Screening Check with determination and resilience, while Year 4 tackled the Multiplication Tables Check with great focus and positivity. These are important milestones, and every single child gave their very best effort, an achievement in itself that deserves recognition and celebration.

Our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils enjoyed a memorable trip to the Fleet Air Arm Museum as part of their World War 2 studies. Not only was this a fantastic opportunity to bring their learning to life, but they also impressed staff and members of the public alike. Their behaviour, curiosity and respect made them superb representatives of our school, we could not be prouder of them.

Meanwhile, Year 3 took part in an exciting cricket event, where their bowling, batting and teamwork skills were put to the test. They embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they supported one another and celebrated each other's successes.

This week also saw us welcome visitors from our trust, who came to learn more about the support we provide for our pupils. A selection of our children spoke with them, and we were incredibly impressed by how mature, articulate and confident they were. They spoke honestly about their experiences and represented our school with pride, an absolute credit to us all.

All in all, it truly has been a fantastic week filled with achievement, opportunity and pride. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.

What a week!

Warm regards,

The School Team

Collective Worship this week...

In class worship, we explored The Unforgiving Servant, reflecting on Jesus’ message about forgiveness, fairness, and compassion. Through discussion and shared thinking, children learned that forgiving others, even when it is difficult, helps to build trust, strengthen relationships, and create a kind and supportive community. We also considered how treating others fairly and showing understanding helps everyone feel valued and able to flourish.

As part of their response, children completed the sentence:
“I will show fairness by…”
This encouraged them to think about practical ways they can live out these values in school each day.

Family Reflection

You may like to talk together at home about:

  • Why is forgiving others sometimes difficult, and why is it important?
  • What does fairness look like in our family life?
  • How can we show kindness and compassion to others each day?
  • How do our choices and actions help to build a peaceful and just community?

These conversations help children to see how the values we learn in school can be lived out at home and beyond.

STARS THIS WEEK

Here are the children who have been shining by showing our church value of FORGIVENESS this week ...

Forgiveness

Love prospers when

fault is forgiven but

dwelling on it separates

close friends

Ash 2: XANDER

Xander is our star this week to celebrate his developing understanding of self-forgiveness. When something doesn’t go to plan, he is learning that it’s okay to make mistakes and that he can be kind to himself, take a deep breath, and try again. We are so proud of the way he looks after his own feelings and keeps going.

Rayner: VINCENT

Vincent is our star this week for his positive and reflective attitude to friendships. He is always the first to forgive and forget and is a super role model to his peers.

Percival: LAYLA

The children in class were all talking about who is very forgiving. Layla was picked because she always accepts an apology and moves on. What a great role model!

Duffy: CHLOE

Chloe's cheery smile shows every day how much she cares and supports her peers and staff. She doesn't expect apologies, never holds a grudge and welcomes all into her friendship group. Chloe you are a model of forgiveness and compassion.

Farook: ZARA

For the way that you have been sharing your ideas in Class Worship about forgiveness. Thank you for your wisdom about how to bring hope and forgiveness to our school.

Evans: RILEY

Riley has been nominated by the Year 5 team this week for showing maturity and forgiveness at lunchtime this week, when there was a situation of conflict Riley made good choices that meant that no one fell out or felt upset. Well done Riley!

Shakespeare: OLIVIA C

Olivia is our star this week due to just always doing the right thing, being kind, compassionate, working hard, but also being forgiving to any disagreements with her friends. I enjoy working with Olivia and it's been wonderful to see her come out of her shell ready for secondary.
